In the last two years, as a result of the pandemic, we’ve seen a push for technological innovation to make remote activities easier and more affordable for everyone.

Already in the early weeks of 2022, a number of new trends are emerging that are sure to have a major impact on the tech industry and everyone’s lives.

So let’s take a look at which trends and terms are set to become most popular in 2022 and the coming years.

Metaverso

Metaverse

The metaverse has become one of the most relevant topics in the tech world, after Mark Zuckerberg announced the change of Facebook’s name to “Meta”, with a clear reference to the metaverse.

It’s a virtual universe in which we can find most of our daily activities, and much more: meetings, trainings, movies, concerts, games, all in 3D version and within everyone’s reach to fully live this immersive experience.

Thanks to the metaverse we will be able to learn, play, communicate and collaborate with anyone in the rest of the world, breaking down geographical and temporal barriers.

Realtà Virtuale e Realtà Aumentata

Virtual and Augmented Reality

Virtual and augmented reality are technologies that have been present for some time in industry, medicine, entertainment and beyond.

Virtual reality is a digital world where the user, wearing a VR visor, is projected in any place allowing him to live immersive adventures in first person simulating any setting.

Augmented reality, on the other hand, is a technology capable of superimposing on the existing reality digital information and content with which the user can interact. The experience is not totally immersive and unlike virtual reality, technological devices such as smartphones and tablets are used.

Blockchain

Another trending term is definitely the Blockchain.

This is a virtual ledger where resources can be exchanged, tracked or owned.

Cryptocurrencies for example use the Blockchain to simplify and track transactions..

NFT

NFT (Non Fungible Token) are non-fungible assets and therefore not replicable as they are characterized by a specific individuality guaranteed by a special certificate issued through blockchain technology.

In the last months the sale of NFTs has skyrocketed and artists of all kinds aim to make their art unique through NFTs.

Lossless Audio

The rage among music streaming services is lossless audio, which can offer superior sound content due to the absence of file compression that causes quality loss.

All streaming services from Spotify to Apple to Amazon, will offer in their music plans a superior audio quality, called lossless audio.
